About Us
Leeds Durgapuja and Diwali Association
Leeds Durgapuja & Diwali Association is a joyful union of people celebrating “Sharodotsab”,the festivals of Durga Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Kali Puja and Saraswati Puja. The Association promotes Bengali Hindu culture and traditions and also facilitates Indian cultural heritage through music, and other performing arts
The first Durgapuja in Leeds was held in 1982 in the Leeds Hindu Temple, when a few families came together to celebrate the Puja. Now we have more than 100 members and volunteers associated with the Association.
About Us
Over the past 43 years, the celebration of Durga Puja in Leeds has brought us immense joy, a deep sense of togetherness, and unity. It is a time for families to reunite and an ideal opportunity for our children to embrace and learn about their cultural heritage.
Our association with the wider Hindu community has grown stronger year after year, and the celebrations have flourished, drawing devotees from across diverse Indian backgrounds.
We are delighted to invite you and your family to our Durga Puja and Kali Puja celebrations in 2025. In recent years, we have refreshed the stage design, given the idols a new look, and added many features that have captured the interest of our community and visitors alike.
This year, we aim to build on these enhancements and celebrate these vibrant and sacred occasions with the same devotion and energy that define our tradition.
Let us once again come together to welcome Maa Durga into our lives with joy, happiness, and unity. We look forward to sharing these auspicious days with you and your loved ones.
